Dr. Fauzia Khan, DDS
Your comprehensive dentist in Lake Bluff, IL.
“Your smile is your best accessory, wear it well.”
Dr. Fauzia Khan is the founder and dentist of Lake Bluff Family Dentistry, which opened its doors to the community in June 2018. Her passion for dentistry lies in building strong relationships with her patents and promoting an understanding of each new patient’s overall dental health.
Dr. Khan loves to make people smile and she believes that helping others have a better experience when “going to the dentist” is just as important as providing the treatment that fits their needs. Seeing patients leave after their appointment happy and smiling inspires her to be the best!
Dr. Khan grew up in Lake Bluff and attended both Lake Forest Country Day School and Lake Forest High School. She then continued her undergraduate education at the University of Chicago and completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Northwestern University Dental School.
Dr. Khan had the opportunity over the past two decades to work in private practices and community health centers. She held faculty positions at both the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of California San Francisco. Both positions were working with dental students whether in community dental centers or on the clinic floor. Dr. Khan also has advanced training from SPEAR Education where she has spent many hours of continuing education and clinical hands-on training.
Our caring dentist in Lake Bluff, IL centers her philosophy on listening to her patients, advising them on treatment options and making each dental visit as comfortable as possible.
Dr. Khan currently lives in Lake Bluff, IL with her husband, Dr. Nejd Alsikafi. They have five children who are now young adults and are still reminded by their mother to brush their teeth! Outside the office, Dr. Khan enjoys playing tennis, traveling, reading and spending time with her family.

Andrew R. (Actual Patient)
Guiding you through your visit at Lake Bluff Family Dentistry.
I grew up in the “Apple Capital of the World”, in the heart of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State, where my Swedish immigrant parents owned a motel.
I received my BA from the University of Washington and shortly after, began working as a dental assistant. I then went onto dental hygiene school and upon graduation, worked as a hygienist in both Washington and Illinois.
I love working with patients and being able to utilize my nurturing side of my personality in that capacity. People often say they just feel comfortable in my presence and for me, that is the biggest compliment they could give me. One of my favorite quotes is by E.E. Cummings, “The most wasted of days is one without laughter”, and that fully resonates with who I am and what I stand for in life.
My husband and I have been married for 20 years and have two children. I was fortunate enough to be able to take time away from my career to raise our kids, and it’s been the perfect blend in my life to be in dentistry again. Cheering at their sporting events is one of my favorite hobbies as I see their talents in action.
I enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, including the following sports: skiing, tennis, hiking, paddle boarding, walking (especially walking with a dog), and camping.
Although I have been scuba diving, I would love to become certified and turn it into more of a hobby and (fun fact) I would love to dive with whale sharks.
I’m originally from Waukegan, IL, and I’ve spent most of my life between Lake County and southeastern Wisconsin. I’m the oldest of three and have a very close-knit family. I’m recently married to my husband, and together we have a very spoiled Chiweenie dog named Olive.
Growing up, I loved going to the dentist because my doctor was a family friend and always made my visits feel special. I always knew I wanted to help people but wasn’t sure how to do that. After exploring different options, I remembered how much I liked dentistry and decided to pursue a dental hygiene degree from the College of Lake County.
Educating my patients on how to take care of their oral health and helping them become empowered through their smiles are real motivations for me. I’m not just someone telling them to floss more, but I’m someone they can get to know and look forward to seeing at their visits.
In my free time, I enjoy trying new recipes, going to concerts, and seeing live music’s avid reader. I also love spending time with my family, exploring new places with my husband, and walking with my dog.
